Despite being only 23 years old, Allison Way has already made a name for herself. Allison graduated Cum Laude from Miami University with a degree in mass communication and a minor in interactive media studies. While in college, Way hosted and produced a radio show for WMSR Redhawk Radio, in which she and her co-star discussed campus life and current events. In addition, Allison served as her senior capstone project's team lead and played a key role in redesigning a website for Optimum business, a small telecommunications company stationed in New York. She simultaneously maintained membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and worked in various writing, video and editing capacities for the Miami Television News Network.
But most of Allison's college career was not spent in the library, in front of the computer, or even in the classroom. A majority of her time was dedicated to staring at the bottom of a pool, and believe it or not, it was those hours spent in the pool that provided her with her greatest learning experiences. Allison was a member of the Varsity Women's Swim Team at Miami University and was elected Captain her senior year. Practicing over twenty hours a week with competitions in between led Allison to four varsity records, a number of pool records, a Mid-American Conference Champion title, and awards for Second-Team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC. But it wasn't these awards that drove Allison to success—it was the lessons that she learned along the way. The importance of dedication, passion, time-management, discipline, and competitiveness provided Allison with life-long lessons that no classroom could teach.
Starting off at age 18, Allison marketed her own swim lessons program, teaching over 40 children. Additionally, Allison served as a programming intern for KCTV Channel 5 and as a writer and videographer for Miami University's Marketing Communications Department.
It wasn't until Allison snagged a job with Think Big Partners that she could unleash her creative writing and innovation capabilities. Today, Allison has written hundreds of documents for TBP including press releases, blogs, articles, web content, emails, advertorials, and copy and also uses her creativity to shoot and edit video for Think Big Partners. Allison has expanded her creative abilities by writing for the Kansas City Entrepreneurship Examiner, EZine, BrooWaha, Helium, NewsVine, and the Think Big Kansas City blog.
